In English class, the teacher asks to the class to do different work. She asks us to write a story about a hero and then to make a multimedia project based on the story.

4 friends composed my group: Baptiste, Cedric, Julien and me. Unfortunately Baptiste left us in the middle of the year because he went to France, even though he helped us a lot (but he hadn’t seen yet our final production).

We decided to make a story about a magician, Akalamus Salamus, who was a very powerful magician. He needed to defeat his father, who became evil, to save his father’s soul and to save the world. So his journey begins, and Panena, his girlfriend, Bagetys, his best friend, and Hittu, his cousin, went with him to help him in his difficult journey.

Our final production is an animation video that we made. For this animation we had used a program called Paint to make the images, and a program called Windows Movie Maker to join the images and mix the sound.

It was a very funny and interesting work.

Heroes is a science fiction drama television series, created by Tim Kring, and released September 2006 in USA.

The series tells the story of some people who just has discovered their specials abilities and they are trying to control and develop them. Each one has a different ability such as time travel, flight, paint the future, regeneration, telepathy, …

The show is already in the second season, which just started two weeks ago in the USA.

In the first season the heroes needed to save New York from a big explosion and they needed to protect their selves against a very powerful man who killed person who had special abilities.

This is a very cool and interesting show; it’s very intriguing and it catch your attention. I recommend it for everyone.

In my opinion, school can be a great place if we know how to take advantage. We can meet people and make friends, some of them for the rest of our lives. The friends are very important in a student’s life. They are the motivation to go to school. We spend a great time in school, but it’s better if we have good friends. In school we learn about different topics, about different things that we like (or not) and we might use in the future. Things that now we don’t know for what we need it but maybe we will need. We have teachers who help us understand. We have different experience of life that prepares us to our future. And, what would we do if we didn’t go to school??

But school has negatives points too. Sometimes we have a lot of work and homework, and we arrive exhausted at home. Some teachers are too strict and demand a lot of us, and some classes are too boring.

I believe the school would be a better place if there were less homework, less test, more sports competitions and a lot of other things. I think that if the classes were a little bit smaller it would be better because we pay much more attention during class, it’s less boring; it’s more ‘electric’.

School has positives and negatives points in my opinion and I think we have to take maximum adventage since we are obligated to go to it.

One of my favorite movies is Ocean’s Eleven. It’s one of the greatest films that I’ve ever seen.

When Daniel Ocean is released from prison in New Jersey, his next heist is already planned. Danny’s targets are three Las Vegas casinos: The Bellagio, the Mirage and the MGM Grand. They all belong to ruthless entrepreneur Terry Benedict, who, by the way, also shows a certain interest in Danny’s beautiful ex-wife Tess. During a boxing event, there will be $150 million in the safe, 70 yards below the strip. So, Danny starts to hire professionals from all over the country: There’s the card magician Rusty Ryan, the perfect pickpocket Linus Caldwell and the ingenious pyrotechnician Basher Tarr. Reuben Tishkoff, who lost a casino to Benedict, provides funding, the brothers Virgil and Turk Malloy will drive and help, and Frank Catton, a professional card dealler, gets a job at the casino to watch the routines. Saul Bloom, already retired, will play the rich heavy weaponry dealer and live in the hotel, while Livingston Dell bugs the place to have a look over the shoulders of the security personnel. Finally, the Chinese acrobat artist Yen will be the one to move inside the safe before the motion detectors are turned off. There are three rules to be followed: First: no blood. Second: Rob only who deserves it. Third: Do it as if you have nothing to lose. When the day of the boxing event finally draws near, all is set, and Benedict doesn’t have a clue – or does he?

My opinion:

This is a smart, clever and a very good heist movie. I really enjoyed it. I’ve seen it a few times and I definitly think that it’s worth seeing. The acting, the story, the direction and the special effects in this movie were all great. A banch of succesfull actors starring in it. It’s a combination of action/adventure, crime/gangster and comedy. To combine all this is not an easy for the director and the producing team. It has a great cast. This movie beat the original. But then again, with all the technology they have today, that’s probably why. Usually remakes are a waste of time, but not this one. But I think the story is implausible because to rob three casinos, it only happens in movies!

It’s a really good movie.

Judo, meaning “gentle way”, is a Japanese martial art found by Jigoro Kano in 1822. Its objectives are to fortify the physicist, the mind and the spirit of integrated form, to develop self-defense. Kano obtained to concentrate the essence of ju-jitsu, martial art practiced by bushi, or knights during the Kamakura period (1185-1333), to other arts of fight practiced in the East and to cast them in an only basic.

Its technique basically uses the force and weight of the opponent against it. “Art where if it uses to the maximum the physical force and spiritual” – words that Kano used to define judo.

Birth of Judo:

Judo it’s a fight based mainly on ju-jitsu. When he was young, Kano was rickety and weak. So he learned ju-jitsu to be stronger and to be able to defend himself. But ju-jitsu was a fight that demanded much force, so Kano decided to create a technique that didn’t use much force. He inserted basic principles as the balance, gravity and system of handspikes in the executions of the logical movements. The aim was to use the force and the weigh oh the opponent against himself, the principle of “to yield to be successful”, not using the resistance to control, to unbalance and to win the adversary with the minimum of effort.

He tried to demonstrate that the ju-jitsu improved, beyond its use for self-defense, could offer the sportiest chances to surpass their proper limitations.

The legend says that during one walked in the snowy forests of Japan, Jigoro Kano stopped to observe a willow that was reached for the snow. He perceived that while the twigs thickest accumulated the snow and after a time they broke, the twigs finest and flexible simply were folded and them left the snow slide, remaining itself unbroken. Kano didn’t want to create only a fight, a sport, but a whole philosophy, a way of life. That’s why the sport calls judo, “ju” means soft, takes the idea to yield to win, to use the force of the other against himself; “do” it means way to it, a philosophy to be followed.

Judo, a sport of principles, also considered an art, a philosophy of life, admired, respected, victorious and of great prestige.

It is a really small city, which has 851 km² and a population of 33,095 inhabitants. The Iguaçu’s river passes for the city; it ‘s a very wide and deep river and very beautiful too.

I went there for the third time and I really enjoy it. It is a calm city and I know a lot of person that live there, that’s why I like there. My friend’s cousin inhabits there and we stayed in her house. She lives in a big house next to the town center.

There, we made a lot of things, like playing soccer, hanging out with friends; we had a lot of fun.

It was a very cool holiday and I wish to come back to União to visit those friends.

Brazil won the match for 4 – 0, with two goals by Ronaldinho, one by Kaka and one by Juan.

This game was a chance to Dunga to try out a new formation, the strike force trio, with Kaka, Ronaldinho and Robinho.

The Brazilian team played correctly, with a good participation of Kaka and Daniel Alves. Ronaldinho didn’t play as much as we expected, but, after a break of a full year without any goals for the Brazilian team, at least he scored two goals.

The Chile equip is passing by a difficult period, with a lot of instability. Even though, they play well and the match was disputed.

Dunga was not completely satisfied with the result. He said: “We can’t think that everything is perfect. The score was not a fair reflection of the game, which was even until Brazil’s first goal. There is still a lot to be done.”

This Tuesday (March 27th), Brazil will play against Ghana. Dunga said that he will keep the strike force trio, but he will do some changes like Daniel Alves and Gilberto are out, and in their place there are Ilsinho and Kleber. It will be a difficult game and I expect that Brazil win!
